Everyone,
Wendi had her surgery today and is slowly coming out of
it. We showed up at Landstuhl this
morning at 0630. All the medical
people we super nice and considerate – the surgeon, the plastic surgeon, the OR
nurse, the anesthesiologist, the floor nurse, etc.
We felt like we were in good hands. Still, hard to watch her being pushed down the hall on that
bed….
The surgeons reported that it went well. The general surgeon said that the
pathology showed it not to be as aggressive as he thought, and that it was a
type that responds well to chemotherapy, so that was good news too.
The plastic surgeon spent a lot of time in the OR. He seems to do a good job – when I
mention his name to anyone on staff he is highly recommended with many
accolades. He has been patient
with all of our questions and has been good to work with.
I grabbed the kiddos and we did a brief visit late tonight
at 9pm, after visiting hours. I’ll
pass on any news over the coming days.
Again, we are SO GRATEFUL for your prayers, your fasting,
your love and concern. It is very
comforting to know of everyone’s support, and that woman deserves it! She is great!
We're so glad it went well and you got good news from your surgeon. We love you all and hope for a speedy recovery!

God be with you as Wendi recovers. I am presently on three days of bereavement leave from the airlines, attending Amy's father's funeral tomorrow (Saturday, 26 April) and will be one of the speakers. He was a WWII vet so they'd like me to sport the chaplain uniform and share some perspectives.
ReplyDeleteAgain, know that we are thinking of and praying for you.
